By now you have been saturated by the media’s coverage of the NATO protest from May 18, 2012 to May 21, 2012. Much of the Corporate Media’s Coverage is slanted in support of the War Machine, and Chicago’s establishment. Much of it is propaganda. It is not news.

They are telling what they want you to know, and what you should think about it. Anyone, and anything, that does not give weight to their twisted view is quashed quickly. They do not want you to know. They do not want you to think. And, By the Will of the Corporate Gods, you sure had better not question their denunciation. However....

Since when is it such a brave deed for 13,000 (plus) armored, armed, trained Paramilitary Police Officers to oppose 3,000 peaceful, t-shirt, tank top clad sign carrying citizens of the United States?

The brave ones were not the ones supporting the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The brave one is the unarmed activist who stood up against war, and squandering the nation's wealth. There were well over 3,000 of them. Closer to 10,000 to 12,000 brave individuals by some sources.

Here are two articles, and the video I shot from 8:00AM to 6:00PM on Sunday, May 20, 2012.

The Police Move In

I use to ask why the Mayor of Chicago fears the people so much. Anymore, I don't care. "Why" no longer matters. As Mark Twain said, "A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes."

Support is Needed

Chicago Bail Fund

This fund will assist those arrested in Chicago while protesting the war-machine of NATO, economic injustice, and related issues. It has been set up by Occupy Chicago, who will administer the funds with the help of its fiscal sponsors, the Crossroads Fund and 8th Day Center for Justice. All donations are tax-deductible.

Breaking News:

National Lawyers Guild Condemns Preemptive Police Raids & Unlawful Searches on the Streets

This coming weekend I will be out on the street with Occupy Chicago. We are protesting the NATO summit here in Chicago. There are a number of reasons.

This summit is costing Chicago money that it can ill afford at this time. The city has been neglected at the hands of privatized institutions far to long to make this kind of Public Relations investment. As of right now, there is a number of indications that the citizens of the city, and the county, will have to foot the bill for Rahm's showboat. That is sufficient reason to object to the NATO Summit. But, NATO itself is objectionable.

NATO was created to defend Western Europe, specifically Western Germany, against Soviet Expansion. Those days are long gone. This is not 1949. We are not frightened by a bomber gap, missile gap, tank gap, We are no longer digging up out back yards in fear of sprouting mushrooms clouds. As we got over all the past gaps, and the real threat of full scale nuclear war. It is way past time to get over NATO. The Soviet Union is gone!

NATO no longer makes us safer. NATO is not longer defending truth, justice, and the American way.

While there are those who point to September 11, 2011 as a justifications for NATO to exist, it is worth support because it is protecting us. Is it really? We have spent billions on support for NATO since the fall of the Soviet Union. Yet, not one of NATO's member nations could, or would, give us warning about the attack. That alone makes the North Atlantic Treaty Organization as pointless as it is wasteful.

NATO is no longer needed.

The Other Side of Chicago

THIS IS A CALL FOR ASSISTANCE on FRIDAY (5/18) and SATURDAY (5/19) that most Occupiers are able to provide. It is non-arrestable, safe for children and the elderly, and not particularly physically taxing.

On FRIDAY (tomorrow) and SATURDAY (day after tomorrow), we need people to cover shifts at the NW Clinic, 2354 N. Milwaukee. Various Chicago-area Occupy groups have adopted the Save Our Clinics action of the Mental Health Movement as an action to support with solidarity.

See below for an explanation of the issue.

The task that is needed is to be at the clinic throughout the day to hold the vigil down. We are low on participation for the next two days because there are major, NATO-related demonstrations happening in
other parts of the city that have pulled away our most loyal participants. This is a great chance for someone who wants to help, but hasn't found the right opportunity, to pitch in.

The task consists of simply being present at the clinic. There are chairs available, and a long sidewalk area to move around on. Local businesses are kindly providing bathrooms from early morning to late night. You could spend the time talking with other Occupiers, reading a book, or listening to an iPod. You will not be committing any crimes, simply sitting outdoors, lawfully on the sidewalk, babysitting our pile of supplies while others are away at other actions.

------------------------

Many of you will already know the issue, but for those who don't, very briefly:

Mayor Emanuel has opted to close six of the twelve Chicago Mental Health Clinics, with devastating effects on the patients in those clinics, whose therapist relationships will be destroyed or seriously disrupted. These patients are (in many cases) the most vulnerable among us. Fifteen people have already been hospitalized since the clinic closures began a few weeks ago.

The plan was originally presented as a cost-saving measure, and nominally it reduces the city budget by $3M. However, in the face of extensive evidence that this $3M reduction would cause a ballooning of costs in other places, the justification was switched to "improving care" by sending patients to private clinics. However, the private clinics that the city has named are full, losing funding, and in some cases, not qualified to provide the type of care needed.

The real reason is that Mayor Emanuel adheres to the same neoliberal economic theories that led to the mortgage crisis. These clinics are being closed because mental health is a politically unpopular cause, and he believes he can cut the programs while funneling money to campaign supporters who run private clinics.

From @OccupyRP

To all who support our right to protest:

Below is the press release issued by the National Lawyers Guild about the criminal actions of the Chicago Police Department against prominent Occupy Chicago activists.

CANG8 stands in solidarity with the victims of this violent police action.  They have done nothing wrong.  They have the right to protest against NATO.

As of this hour, the CPD have not admitted to the lawyers that they have the eight people in custody.

Call Mayor Emanuel 312-744-5000 and Police Superintendent McCarthy 312-744-4000:  Demand the immediate release of the activists.

If you see police misconduct, or are harassed or stopped, call the NLG Hotline:  312-913-0039

And remind all who want to protest with us on Sunday, May 20th:  The police acted last night under the cover of darkness, while we'll be marching in the light of day while the whole world will be watching.  Don't be afraid to come out and raise your voices!

PRESS RELEASE: Chicago Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild

National Lawyers Guild Condemns Preemptive Police Raids & Unlawful Searches on the Streets. Early morning house raid in Bridgeport and harassment of activists indicates intolerance of free speech rights.

NOTE: Press conference to be held TODAY at 5:30pm at 3340 W. Fillmore Street, the Chicago Police Department's Organized Crime Division

Chicago, IL -- The National Lawyers Guild (NLG) condemns a preemptive police raid that took place at approximately 11:30pm Wednesday in the Bridgeport neighborhood, and instances of harassment on the street, in which Chicago police are unlawfully detaining, searching, and questioning NATO protesters. The Bridgeport raid was apparently conducted by the Organized Crime Division of the Chicago Police Department and resulted in as many as 8 arrests.

According to witnesses in Bridgeport, police broke down a door to access a 6-unit apartment building near 32nd & Morgan Streets without a search warrant. Police entered an apartment with guns drawn and tackled one of the tenants to the floor in his kitchen. Two tenants were handcuffed for more than 2 hours in their living room while police searched their apartment and a neighboring unit, repeatedly calling one of the tenants a "Commie faggot." A search warrant produced 4 hours after police broke into the apartment was missing a judge's signature, according to witnesses. Among items seized by police in the Bridgeport raid were beer-making supplies and at least one cell phone.

"Preemptive raids like this are a hallmark of National Special Security Events," said Sarah Gelsomino with the NLG and the People's Law Office. "The Chicago police and other law enforcement agencies should be aware that this behavior will not be tolerated and will result in real consequences for the city."

In another incident, 3 plainclothes police officers unlawfully stopped, handcuffed, and searched a NATO protester on Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive at approximately 2pm today. According to the protester, he did not consent to a search and there was no probable cause to detain him. The police also photographed and questioned him about where he was from, how he got to Chicago, how long it took, what he was doing here, where he was staying, who he was with, and how long he was planning to say in Chicago. The protester refused to answer any questions and was eventually released.

The NLG has received reports that at least 20 people have been arrested so far this week, and two people are still in custody, not including the Bridgeport residents who are still unaccounted for. One of the protesters currently being detained, Danny Johnson of Los Angeles, has been accused of assaulting a police officer during an immigrant rights rally on Tuesday afternoon. However, multiple witnesses on the scene, including an NLG Legal Observer, recorded a version of events that contradict the accusations of police.

During the week of NATO demonstrations, the NLG is staffing a legal office and answering calls from activists on the streets and in jail. The NLG will also be dispatching scores of Legal Observers to record police misconduct and representing arrestees in the event the city pursues criminal prosecutions.

 See you on the Street!

‘Twas the Week Before NATO

As of this writing, we are one week away from NATO’s visit to Chicago. It is almost impossible to sum up what has already happened in Chicago. Red Zones have been painted around all the federal buildings in Chicago, and something similar to Martial Law within those zones. Metra (the Chicago Commuter Train Service) is shutting down stations, limiting what passengers can bring on the trains, and initiating airport style screen of passengers boarding trains. O’Hare is dedicating one runway to NATO diplomats. The Kennedy Expressway, from O’Hare through The Loop, to McCormick place, will be shut down in both directions when the diplomats are on the move. The office workers in the loop are being told to dress down to blend in with the crowd when commuting May 14, to May 22. Three museums will be shut down for the weekend of NATO. Some businesses are planning on shutting down, or curtailing hours, for the mid-May week. And, at this point, only a few hundred Occupy protestors have shown up to speak their piece against NATO’s colonial wars.

All the citizens of Chicago are being assured that Chicago can handle the NATO Summit without disrupting business; it will be good for the city. This is just like any other convention, right? That is what Rahm wants you to believe. Are you naïve enough to buy his line of reasoning? Or are you coming to the conclusion that this might just be a boondoggle that the city can ill afford?

Chasing after Chase

This past week, Chase announced that it lost $2 Billion (USD) in risky hedge trading. Not going to get into the details. I am sure they will still be surfacing over weeks to come.

I do want to extend a hand of welcome to all those who will end up losing their jobs due to this reckless misadventure of Chase. I am not sure if layoffs are coming. It is only $2B in losses against $19B in profit. The two do balance things off in a way. However, if they do let heads roll, making the rank and file pay for executives’ mistakes, I want to be the first invite you to The Occupation. I want you to know that you will find people who do understand what you have gone through.

To Begin a Blog

Kit, out of Austin, Texas, asked me to write up a little Blogger 101 for people who want to start writing their story. So in very succinct style, I will take a stab at it. First, write about your passion. You are not going to keep the work going if you don’t have passion. Second, brevity is the soul of good writing; shoot for 600 words per posting, and stop near 1000 words. Third, there are many service out there, but for the beginner, Blogger (the service you are reading now) is easy to use. You can write in word, select the whole text, copy it, and then paste it into blogger. It is simple. Imbedding video from YouTube, and pictures is equally easy. Say whatever you will about Google, they have made this an easier site to use. The rest is up to you. Write from your soul, and share it with the world.

Calling NATO Protesters: Help Occupy the Closed Clinics!

The Mental Health Movement is calling for NATO protesters to help Occupy the closed clinics, and will begin a 24/7 presence at the Northwest Clinic in Logan Square clinic today. Join them for a PRESS CONFERENCE: Wed 5/9, 11am, 2354 N. Milwaukee

OCCUPY CLINICS – HEALTHCARE NOT WARFARE!
A call from Mental Health Movement to Occupy Wall Street and all others coming to Chicago to protest NATO and the war and austerity agenda of the 1%

To all our family from the global 99%,To all those who believe that healthcare is a human right,To all those coming to protest NATO and its wars for profit around the globe,To all those who have struggled with mental illness personally or with loved ones, To all those who have been denied healthcare,To all those who have waited all day in emergency rooms,To all those public servants facing layoffs or cuts to salary and pension,To all those who are sick and tired of being sick and tired, To all those who believe that another world is possible beyond this madness,

The Mental Health Movement calls on all protesters coming to Chicago to join us in the fight for healthcare not warfare. As NATO war-makers come to this city to plan wars that leave people traumatized and cost trillions of dollars, clinics that help people heal from trauma and deal with mental illness are being shuttered for lack of $2.3 million dollars. As our battle to save our clinics has intensified, Occupy Chicago and other Occupy groups around the city have become powerful allies. Now we ask members of Occupy Wall Street, other Occupy groups and all other sectors of the social movements coming to Chicago to protest NATO to join us in occupying clinics by setting up a 24/7 presence outside of recently closed mental health clinics. We will dramatize the contradictions of a system that finds billions to wage NATO’s endless wars for profit but leaves its most vulnerable without basic healthcare.

For 26 days, we have maintained an around-the-clock presence at the Woodlawn Clinic at 6337 S. Woodlawn, one of six mental health clinics recently closed by Mayor 1% Emanuel. On April 12th 23 people – most of us patients from clinics facing closure - barricaded ourselves inside of the Woodlawn Clinic, only to be evicted and arrested by the SWAT team and Chicago Police and sent to jail, the future home for the mentally ill who cannot find treatment. Upon release, we returned to the clinic and have been camped out 24/7 ever since. Through this struggle we have seen 41 people arrested but have reached thousands of Chicago residents with our stories.  We will not be held back. The Huffington Post has called the struggle to save Chicago’s mental health clinics “the Birmingham and Stonewall of the mental health movement.” We consider this fight ground zero in the struggle for a world that sees healthcare as a right and invests in healing and human rights, not warfare and corporate subsidies.

Today, we are expanding our campaign to the Northwest Mental Health Clinic in Logan Square at 2354 N. Milwaukee. This clinic has served the predominately Latino community of Logan Square for 30 years. This is the first site of our expanded resistance to clinic closure. We know that we can count on the people mobilizing for the NATO demonstrations to respond to our call with the tactic of non-violence and in a way that continues to lift up the voices of those of us whose lives hang in the balance of this struggle. We are clear that our enemy is the system that deprives us of healthcare and other basic human rights, the politicians that administer that system, and the 1% who profit from it, not the police sent in to do Mayor 1%’s dirty work. Just as Occupy Chicago has stood with us, taken arrests with us, and been a true example of dignity and solidarity, we know that you too will see that our causes are one and the same and that we have nothing to lose and everything to gain by connecting local and global struggles.

Mayor 1% claims that closing clinics is a way to expand mental health services by throwing a few crumbs to private clinics. He has ignored our cries about the importance of the trust built through years with our therapists. He has ignored our cries about the importance of having safe spaces like these clinics in our communities. He has ignored our cries about his plan’s complete elimination of all black male therapists. He has ignored our cries about his plan’s 50% reduction in the number of Spanish-speaking therapists. He has ignored our cries about the 18 people who have already been hospitalized due to stress surrounding the clinic closures and loss of therapists. He has ignored our cries about the difficulty of finding care in the private sector given prohibitive co-pays, Medicaid cuts, and a steady decline in mental health funding for all providers. He has ignored our cries that a small fraction of the hundreds of millions in tax breaks he got for his campaign donors at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange could save our clinics. He has ignored our cries that Cook County Jail is the largest provider of mental health care in the state of Illinois. He has ignored our cries that closing clinics when the need for mental health services is growing, destabilizes communities and makes the wars on Chicago’s streets even worse. He only spoke personally about the clinic closures after representatives of the Nobel Summit visited our clinic occupation and denounced his plans. But he spoke of bus passes and his words were just another reminder that he has ignored our cries.

But we know that one man cannot hold back the power of a people’s movement. We know that with our struggle we create space to talk about the trauma and mental illness that is too often buried under mountains of silence and pain. We know when Occupy Wall Street and others stand with us it will help amplify our cry around the world:  HEALTHCARE NOT WARFARE!

In solidarity,

Mental Health Movement

The Great Lady

This is more about me than it is about the social movement. It is more about love for nature than it is about the struggle for equity. This is more about coming home than anything else.

Last year I moved back to Chicago. I arrived home on May 6, 2011. I had a room to rent, and a pocket full of hope for a new life.

That month, full of irrational exuberance, I bought a simpleton's Kodak video camera. I took it to the Lake Front that I remembered so well from my youth, and began collecting images.

The far North edge of Lincoln Park was my Lake Michigan playground from 1968 to 1987. It is where I got scorched, and turned golden brown. It was where I walked to contemplate life. It is where I went fishing with my friends. It is where I made love for the first time with my Ex wife. It is the place of cherished memories.

In this short video, I share the changing seasons of Lake Michigan along Chicago's Lincoln Park. The Great Lady shows the changes of Lake Michigan from May 2011 to April 2012.

How A Bunch Of Dicks Can Do Great Things In Society

You are about to read an irreverent take on gender roles and politics, tied to a serious take on what men can do together when we get rid of tools of social division like race, religion and politics, and act as humans, all with the same stuff in our pants. We need to start talking nationwide, reaching out and lending each other a hand. We can make a huge difference in society if we map out the best ways to pool resources and care for others. ****If you are offended by the male anatomy, then you need to beat it, and at the very least get some therapy. Men have dicks, and we like our dicks, so deal with it. This is for the guys.

When someone says that "men are all dicks!", it's really not a bad thing when you think about it.  All men have dicks, the penis, whatever. "DICK" is more to the point, I think. As a man, I think men are the greatest, often degraded in pop culture, though we are equipped with an infinite capacity for learning, teaching, building, sharing, loving, growing and sexual pleasure until we die. Without dicks, that amazing, inspiring slab of miracle meat, there would be no hotels, motels, no ships, planes, houses, no stores, no food, no porn, no sex, no kids, no men, no women, no joy, no pain, no life, nothing. And who can ignore the immense relaxation and pleasure having a dick provides! We are literally the entire seed, and the builders of human civilization. Our evolved brains aside, all pleasure, love, all life itself starts with your favorite toy, your dick.

When we have resources or time, or love to share with other people, but we choose to remain indifferent, keeping our heads down, we often deepen and prolong our own troubles. We increase and prolong the suffering of others, and we ignore the fact that interacting, caring for humans feels GOOD. Selfish people in my book do not have dicks, just pricks. By looking away from others, not connecting, not having sustained, real, deep friendships and community connections, we tell our future generations that looking away is FINE, and that thoughtlessness and cruelty have no consequences. Instead, we hand future generations deeper and deeper human suffering. Those of us with dicks and some balls  need to talk amongst ourselves, scratch our heads, our balls, whatever it takes, and get to work helping our brothers, and helping ourselves. .Too many men are in a crisis, and we must put all of our heads together and start solving social issues that no government or church can solve, just because we are all human beings, and it is the right thing to do. The rewards will be great.. Get together. Share stories, share your abundance, your connections for jobs, clothing, shelter, books, social activities. Tell a dirty joke to make someone laugh. The loyalty and flood of love and gratitude you get in return will be staggering. Most of us have some time to make friends, give a shit for our vets, visit them, talk to them, be the buddies they had in the services. Be a good dick, not a prick. And use your dick however you want to do good in the world. This country needs you. If you can, don't just give money to a drop box. Give to A PERSON who needs help. See the difference you want to make in a life or lives. Lets talk about how to this to do the most good. Leave me your thoughts. Those of us who dreamt up this blog wanna hear from you. Haters and sexual comments will be deleted, blocked.

The toxic, perverted tendency to stifle expression, to make little boys "tough" and not to feel or express emotion, not to share, in the name of acting "manly" to "MAN UP" and to not look "gay" is relatively new sin in social history. People are different, have always been, will always be, and nothing will change that. Grow the fuck up. The shy, sensitive boy will probably be a badass at something cool as a grown man, so lighten the hell up!  And this bullshit machismo is as destructive to lives of humans as wars, plagues and other calamities. It breeds suspicion, fear, anxiety, competition, hostility, violence, destructive relationships and even death. Many men of many lifestyles and ages kill themselves because they are in despair for a variety of terrible reasons, all the while desperately trying to look strong, and no one even winks anymore when they off themselves, It's almost expected.... It's worse, I think, when men cover up their pain, depression, insecurities, struggles, hardship and need, and then their suicide is shocking because no one saw it coming. He stuffed it deep down inside of himself until it consumed him. I have lost men friends and family members to suicide by different means. Guns seem to be the popular choice.

We all know men do not have the social support networks they need for real support, nurturing, shelter, training, hope and love.My dream is to get some men of means to oragnize, plan and start a Kickstarter fund drive to buy buildings in every major city to help house the men who are employable, vets, disabled, and men up to 60,  who are truly alone and who have worked hard their whole lives, only to be cast off. We need housing for disabled, with their needs in consideration, and we need centers for vets, and these other men to just socialize, brainstorm and organize as a social force. We need to get these marginalized, isolated people outside of their social spheres so they will see that people they dont even know do care about them, love them, appreciate them, need them in this world. With so many wealthy people, so many suitable buildings vacant after the economy fell, it's doable, if men with dicks and real balls step up to the plate. I wonder what a Kickstarter would do? To help provide permanent, safe, desirable housing for sober, hardworking, healthy men in need to live in til they get on their feet. It's not like a halfway house for convicts. These are the classic American victims of the economic collapse and our failings as a society.

And for jobs, there is more incentive to hire women and minorities than a disabled white vet, or a great, brilliant 55 year old white professional because of his "age". If I had my way, we could start businesses built totally run and operated by cast-offs like the 55 year old, as well as functioning disabled, and people in wheelchairs. The painful need, and the unexpressed love and nurturing between men who are family, friends, is the deathbed regret of so many many men. As men age, many of us find ourselves wiser and kinder, yet too often totally alone and isolated, living in a state of deep depression, lost in a world of people who do not see or interact with us. There is NO real safety net, only shame and fear, defeat and despair. No sense of community that comes through so many parts of society. So many amazing men, great minds, hearts, souls, loving beings, beautiful people die simply because they are not equipped or allowed socially to ask for help at the darkest moments of life. So they destroy themselves, either slowly with booze and drugs, or with gunshot wounds. That shit has to STOP. Vets of current and recent conflict are dying DAILY due to depression, loneliness, lack of housing, healthcare. All over the country men are dying from suicide or being slowly killed by the stress of losing families, homes, all hope for jobs when their careers were suddenly obliterated and eliminated in the financial crisis.  Men who have had personal tragedies end up on the street, without family, friends, or help to shelter, love and encourage them.

We all have things, from spare time, ears to listen, hearts to open, mentoring to offer, clothing and books to give, sometimes food to sustain a man, money, connections, love and hope. Together we need to start working to turn the tide of catastrophic poverty and increasingly ignored social ills sweeping this country.  This is not a forum for people with deep mental illness, substance abuse, or criminal backgrounds. This is for hard working, articulate, men who long for a sense of community, friendship, and bonding with other men who are willing to tackle to the best of their abilities, some hard issues that are keeping good human beings down, and pushing them to extinction. Many of us are not rich, but are blessed with at least the minimal trappings of comfort to help reach out a hand and elevate a fellow man who will take your help only to better his life and make a lifelong friend in you.

Men of significant life experience, resources, ages and beliefs are all tied together by one thing. We are male animals, highly evolved and capable of great compassion.  And, we all have, and highly guard our dicks. And many men grow up ashamed of heir dicks, as I did. This comes from seeing hearing and learning from an exploitive press and violence at home, that men are destroyers, soldiers that kill, abusive husbands and fathers, or dull expressionless statues like John Wayne. Also, we learn as kids from the sterile, robotic politicians and community leaders that place an emphasis on gaining personal power over helping humanity. This is what our children learn through watching our government. Without positive loving, role models to put us at ease as kids, our potential for happiness, self confidence and love dies away.  Even sexual confusion can result. Even men who have loving fathers and support, pride in their sex and themselves tend to shed bonding, trust, deep friendship and social concerns after college. The real world, the corporate workplace makes us don our armor, hiding our humanity as well as our dicks. We cant be too chummy, cant be too close to the people that work under us, are less productive than us, or worse, our competitors. When we get married, men learn to live through your carers, then your wives and the demands of raising kids. Some make a few sports or work buddies with whom you only reveal so much. And they talk only of sports, or innocuous stuff.

When we stop acting naturally in love and support for each other, competition erupts. This begins when we learn our socially divisive habits of race, religion, politics, wealth, status, height, haircolor, etc. Yes, we do all of these things, including how we dress,  to divide men, a way of splitting and controlling thought and behavior learned long ago.  **This blog is a place of humor, heart, genuine concern for fellow human beings, and a way for men to connect meaningfully to enrich their lives, and the lives of others.

The proof is in the pudding for men who have been to college, or gone to a gym, and when you shed the armor of work, or being a studious college kid, you head to the gym or the dorm, you suddenly relax, go into a different, more natural, subdued mode. You strip off the activities and/or clothes that define you in class or in work, and become just another man among men, an equal among equal. And there is nothing wrong with that. I always had issues about my skinny body, and was beaten terribly and degrades as a boy. So, I was 30 before I stripped in a gym locker room in front of others. I felt awful and inferior. But the thing is, after I dropped my towel, threw it aside, made myself walk naked to the shower, I was liberated. No one in there gave a shit. There were big guys, little guys, men with gym bodies, men with average bodies, hairy bodies, many races. I felt good there. We were all the same. And we were all relaxed. The guys may have been millionaires, busboys, businessmen and bankers. It didn't matter. What amazed me, and I first thought of as exhibitionism was that the men didn't stride and pose naked to show off, but they were very comfortable in their own skin, some just shaving, showering, talking, joking, all completely naked. It was a revelation. Everyone had dicks, so I knew I was in the right locker room. Though the people were all different,  those dicks were all pretty much the same, some circumcized, some not, some long, some thin, most kinda small and flaccid, and they were all relaxed. The way we should all be at all times. Proud, comfortable together, relaxed, and friendly. If this blog can get men to start relaxing, talking, smiling, greeting, chatting and making friends in the word, then I will be happy. We're all just animals, just people. And not one is a damned site better than the next. No nudity required, but if you feel like it, go for it. Be happy. Be healthy, be human, and share. No man is an island.

We all have the moments, walking down the sidewalk, when a guy comes walking along, down the other side, about to pass you, and there is a reflexive, uncomfortable glance away, a fear, a mistrust, apprehension and anxiety that often stops men from just smiling, saying excuse me, or saying hi to a neighbor, and alot of it is training to be homophobic, which has lead to fear of people who are just like you, just as nice, kind, and with the same hopes and fears as you do. You both have dicks, so be the bigger man and smile, say hi or excuse me next time. Don't let that shitty conditioning stop you from having a pleasant moment, or maybe giving a smile to someone else. If they don't smile back, they are insecure. It's OK. Change starts with taking steps, and being polite, kind, considerate and non-judgemental is a good place to start. At a time when society has so many ills, who can afford to be divided by social fear of our own sex, politics or religion or race? In the meantime, have a great week, and thanks for reading a blog from an Old White Dick.
