Poland has raised concerns that Russia may be planning to seize control of a small portion of NATO territory. Should NATO fail to intervene, Russia could continue taking incremental portions of NATO land until a significant portion is under its control. This strategy bears resemblance to the approach Hitler employed leading up to World War II. While many NATO members believe that Russia is considering a land grab, they anticipate this may happen within the next two to three years. Should Russia move to seize NATO territory, there is a significant likelihood that China could also attempt to annex Taiwan and other territories in the South China Sea.
