A Chance for Peace

There is a Chance for Peace
Many years ago I took a class in the nature of war. I got it from a Liberal Christian Publication called The Other Side. I was 24. I've slept a couple of times since then. I don't remember much of the class exactly. One thing I do remember is the War becomes inevitable when one group kills members of another group. There is always opportunity for Peaceful resolution until blood is shed. Then the dynamic of the conflict changes.

No one has died in the conflict between China and The Philippines yet. This is the basic message extended to China by Australia, Japan, the Philippines, and the US.

The Philippines is not responding in kind towards Chinese aggression. The Chinese Maritime Militia, and Chinese Coast Guard, are still unscathed. The US is in a good position to negotiate a resolution.

Contrary to Al Jazeera's propaganda, the US has help. Vietnam want a peaceful resolution, so does Malaysia. Even the EU is concerned over the most recent development. Moreover, China itself has a history of not going to war over international disagreements.

As difficult as it may be to grasp, war is still not inevitable.

USA
Fewer than 60% of Americans don't see China as the a threat. Over 40% of Americans see China as an enemy, a Pew report shows. That’s a five-year high.
