August 2001 was the slowest news month of the seven months of my broadcasting diploma. It was hot, and nothing was happening. Yahoo News posted all sorts of feel good fluff. It stayed that way in Arlington, TX until 11 September 2001, and nothing slowed down for the next 20 years. Today has that August 2001 feel to it. Nothing much is going on today.
