Bombs Away

Listen to Bombs Away by Harry Turtledove on Audible.

Guns of the South, written by Harry Turtledove, has mastered the field of Alternative History since its release in 1992. Mr. Turtledove usually executes an excellent story line based on the "what if" line of reasoning. His mastery of history falls flat with his work Bombs Away.

Rather than dig deeply into the subject, he mimics Harry Truman's fears, by showing what would occur if MacArthur had used the substantial nuclear forces of the United States against Communist China. The work is interesting as far as it goes, but it is partial propaganda excusing Truman's timidity which we still address today.

Criminal China

The more we watch the Chinese, the more we have to realize that the world is facing a criminal organization in the Chinese Communist Party. The Chinese Communist Party who never possessed Taiwan, decided it was going to surround Taiwan as punishment for some infraction. Reuters has the details in the article China launches 'punishment' war games around Taiwan.

Albert Einstein is quoted as saying, "Older men start wars, but younger men must fight them." When it comes to Criminal China the older men who started the eventual war are all dead. This is Truman's, Mao's, Stalin's, and Eisenhower's war. The young men (and women) who will fight this war are our children, and grandchildren. This is the irrational state of affairs we find ourselves in today; the men and women of the future will have no choice but to defeat Criminal China.
