Convoy Update

The Chinese are again increasing the stakes in their game of international brinkmanship. They are insisting that the Philippines honor an illegal agreement which they say they had with the previous administration. Moreover, no one in the Philippines knows what agreement the Chinese are referring to.

At what point does the Philippine Navy send a couple of Corvettes to Scarborough Shoal, seize the Chinese Coast Guard ships, and detain the crews? That is the next logical step in this game?

Deep History

This video is about seven months old from Business Basics. It provides more background information about the current state of affairs in the South China Sea. It discusses the Chinese perspective, as well as India's, Vietnam's, the Philippines', and Malaysia's. Small Note: The events of 1914 were during World War I, not World War II as stated in the video.

At the risk of conformation bias again, the following video from The Military Show is supported by a CBS 60 Minutes segment from about three months ago. The Red Flag here is that the US northern border is larger and more perforated than the Mexico border. There is no data on who is infiltrating from Canada.

There is a limited amount of information about undocumented migrants coming to the US from Canada. The majority of those stories focus only on Hispanics coming to the USA from Canada.
